The nudity in this film is simply powerful. It is used in the exploration of love between the ever-gorgeous Kate and the young man. We start with a brief flash of Kate’s bush (she refused a merkin) as she is putting on tights, and like David Kross who is watching her, we are lured into her majesty thanks to the nudity. Then, we see Kate’s nude posterior as she drops the towel and seduces David. Everything in this scene is perfect. Both are naked, but she is making the power play. From kissing his back to feeling his erection, the sexual tension between the two radiates to the viewer. As she turns him around, we watch her plant a kiss on him to which he stands frozen like a deer in headlights, before landing a far more aggressive kiss. Then we can only watch in awe as Kate seductively wraps her arm around his neck and kisses him passionately. Then cut to the sex scene, where we see a great view of Kate’s boobs before David kisses Kate’s bare side in bed. Then it’s the nighttime bed scene, and we get a view of Kate’s bush and butt as she gets in bed, then a flash of tit as she lies on top of her man before he gets up and reads to her. Then the naked rage. We are held back as Kate angrily disrobes, infuriated but not because she is naked. Her nakedness is empowering as she is physically and emotionally exposed. Next, we get some nice views of Kate’s boobs underwater before her and David kiss and makeup. Scenes of David reading intercut with sex with limited nudity shown besides Kate’s bare back as she lies on her side, luring David to clamber over and kiss and fuck her. We get a nice see-through shot of Kate’s dark nipples in a wet bra, before we get the most graphic nude scene in the film. Unfortunately, it’s not Kate who’s nude, but the fact that David (who had just turned 18 at the time of filming) is standing there, fully naked, dick on display as Kate scrubs him down only adds to the power of Kate Winslet. 9/10

So I sat down with him and said, 'Now, listen. You know there's only going to be, like, three people in the room, right?' He said, 'Wh--what, th--three people, that's all?' And I said, 'Yes, darling ... that'll be it.' He was like, 'Really? ... Oh my God, that is so great'" And I could literally feel the weight of the world just fall off his shoulders, because I think this poor young man had been imagining it was going to be the crew, who we all knew so well by that point ... all going to be there watching us walk around naked, and so just shedding a little bit of light on it for him made a big difference," Winslet said.
