Yeh, the age dif is a bit rapey, to be sure. But, cinematically, his gruf über macho roughness totally brought out how utterly deliciously perfectly "my first crush" sort of perfect teen girl she is so great at portraying. She's good at that teen act of gung up confidence, acting older than she is. But is just a mask over more introvert issues. She'll be hot on the tail of class actresses like Liv Tyler, Amanda seyfried, Elle Fanning, Angela Sarafyan, and that quality of look and talent. I think the scene is meant to be a stinker. A vulnerable girl playing with her power, and way out of her depth, and a guy old enough to know better, deciding to just go for it. She never takes a crumby part. So, am trusting in the context of the movie it fits and works.

Yeh, ok, we can see this as a sick twisted scene. Why? Because it's meant to be. It's meant to make you feel uncomfortable. If it doesn't, then something is wrong with you. It's clever though, and beautifully choreographed in that you feel the vibe she is pulling out of the older guy. And at same time you're thinking WTF is going on here? Too easy to criticize the director for making the scene as impactful as it surely needed to be to make it work. Both played their parts exceptionally well. But we can't confuse the actors, or crew, with th characters being portrayed.
